We are delighted to announce that imatta’s mental health and wellbeing platform begins a programme to provide 400 military veterans free access and treatment; launching today on World Mental Health Day 2023.

The programme provides two years of funded on-line and in person support to better understand and treat the root causes and prevalence of problem gambling among UK veterans.

The imatta digital platform offers a range of resources, including one-to-one therapy sessions, psychological support, interviews, guides, live seminars and educational content. The programme offers tailored support to better understand and address the specific mental health needs of military veterans and support their sustained health and wellbeing.

The veterans’ health and gambling study will assess the links between gambling addiction and undiagnosed PTSD, Depression and Anxiety. It is hoped that an improved understanding of the comorbidities affecting veterans will garner further support for future treatment pathways and improvements to the care and support given in both public and private sectors.

Veterans are able to access the help they need in a safe and confidential environment, and without bearing the financial cost of the support. Founder Chris Perry Metcalf said of the news:

“Many veterans face unique and often severe mental health challenges resulting from their service. I've seen the profound impact that mental health challenges can have on veterans, and we’re pleased to be able to offer some support to those who have served our country."

Our business is all about bringing support upstream, and helping more people to access support earlier. Having the ability to deliver this programme is a privilege and incredibly important to everyone in the business.”
